The 1966 Batmobile

1966-batmobileThwack! Biff! Bap! Ker-pow! Splooch! Klonk! Only a few words to describe the legendary 60’s TV show Batman. Remember the good old times and forget the Dark Knight’s 2008 Batpod, have a look on the original Batmobile!

In 1955, the Lincoln division of Ford Motor Company designed and built a futuristic concept car called the Lincoln Futura.  It was built entirely by hand in Turin, Italy at a cost of $250,000, and like many concept cars, was never put in to production.  In the mid 1960’s, George Barris of Barris Kustom City acquired the car for $1 directly from Ford.
Fast forward to August 1965, the Batman TV show producers approached George to have him build a new Batmobile for their upcoming show.  The only catch was the car had to be ready for action in a mere three weeks.  Seeing the bat-like qualities his Futura already had, George felt it was the perfect answer to the quandary 20th Century Fox had created.
Three weeks later in October of 1965, the Batmobile was born and television history was made…

And yes, you’re right, there is an entire website dedicated to the 1966 TV Batmobile!

Dvinsk-Clan — Le Parkour

Posted: December 8th, 2009 | Author: Habi | Filed under: Sports | Tags: , , | 2 Comments »

Okay, this is really old stuff! This video was my first encounter with Parkour, several years ago.

Dvisnk-Clan is a Daugavpils, Latvia based parkour clan. Composing of around 30 people, their flagship video “Le Parkour” (Often known as Russian Climbing) has found it’s way through the internet. A sequel (“Le Parkour, Latvia Daugavpils 2005″, known as Dvinsk Clan 2) was made, but wasn’t as popular.

But still until these days, no other freerunning video can beat it:

One of the greatest persons in recent history, Hunter S. Thompson, writer, journalist, politician and most of all American patriot, put an end to his life about five years ago. His work still affects the life and work of many people all around the world. Even if it’s just for entertainment while watching the adaption of his most famous novel “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”.

Here are some of his most popular quotes, put in the their proper environment, HST Motivational Posters:

They all went to heaven at the age of 27

I like to listen to The Doors a lot, so I was pretty amazed when I noticed this nice shirt collection themed “They all went to heaven at the age of 27″. The Scandinavians of Whipping Floyd have their own, but in my opinion very fresh style!

Here are the featured artists:

The Forever 27 Club consists of prominent musicians who all passed away at the age of 27 years. Too early, if you look at how inspiring their music is still today. Timeless classics. To put these people a monument Whipping Floyd created these shirts.

My favorite is Jim Morrison’s:

Mr. Mojo Risin is an anagram of his name that he uses in the song LA Woman. He spent his last night on earth in the Paris nightclub Rock’n’Roll Circus. White horses denote heroin, the reason Jim died most likely.
